The Books
Standalones, continuing series, memoir, cookbooks, and stories still making their way from idea to finished page. Some of these worlds have been waiting years, even decades, to finally make it onto the shelf. This page follows the current publishing catalogue at Sakura Studios while keeping you here on SarahKing.ca for book information.
Standalones
Last Soul
Standalone
Coming February 2027
The apocalypse is running a little behind schedule...
Fair Warning
A Note About the Standalones
Grab some tissues, sit down, get comfortable, and maybe bring tea. These books are emotional, a little heartbreaking, occasionally funny, and not exactly short.
You have been warned. The capybaras recommend snacks, and a companion to sit with, preferably one of them.
Echoes of Willows Rise
Book Three
Coming December 2026
Another secret is waking up at Willows Rise. Apparently nobody there understands the concept of leaving things buried.
The Secret Sister
Book Four
Coming April 2027
The family tree has developed another branch. Naturally, nobody labelled it.
The Lightkeepers Diary
Book Five
Future release
The diary knows things. Unfortunately, it isn't sharing nicely yet.
Legacy of the Lightkeepers
Book Six
Future release
Generational secrets are being untangled with roughly the same success rate as Christmas lights.
Rebirth of Lanterns
Book Seven
Future release
The lanterns are coming back. Because apparently nobody in this family knows when to leave well enough alone.
How This Became Seven Books
A Note About The Lightkeepers
This was supposed to be a story about a camp, a few old secrets, and some lanterns. Kayleigh would like it officially noted that nobody consulted her before the family tree turned into an archaeological dig.
Lyra is still somewhere in the background going, “Oh my God, there’s another one?” while the capybaras remain completely unbothered and have apparently decided this is all perfectly normal. "Wait...where's Emily?"
Seven books later, the secrets are still breeding.
Destiny's Fate: The Winter Throne
Book Two
Coming December 2026
Skadi froze the release schedule. Negotiations are not going well.
Destiny's Paradox: Rings of Fire
Book Three
Coming 2027
Reality caught fire. Destiny would like it officially noted that this was absolutely, definitely, probably not her fault.
Destiny's Shackles: Heart of Living Earth
Book Four
Coming 2028
The planet woke up angry. Nobody brought snacks. Excellent planning, everyone.
Destiny's Lineage: The Eden Thread
Book Five
Coming 2028
Family history was already complicated. Then mythology kicked the door in, stole the family tree, and set it on fire.
Destiny's Last Stand: Grounded in Time
Book Six
Coming 2028
Chronos broke the timeline again. We've taken away his clock, his calendar, and anything with numbers on it.
Destiny's Finale: The Worlds Endgame
Book Seven
Coming 2029
The universe is ending. Again. Please remain seated until causality has come to a complete stop.
How Destiny Got Out of Hand
A Note About The Destiny Theory
The Destiny Theory began as a much smaller idea and then did what mythology tends to do: it invited more gods, more timelines, more disasters, and absolutely no adult supervision.
Much of the series has been planned and developed for years, which is why the later books can move into production faster than they might otherwise.
At this point, even Chronos has stopped asking for a clean timeline.
City of Carth
Book One
Launching November 21, 2026
Launch sequence initiated. Carth denies responsibility for anything that happens next.
Evertide
Book Two
Coming 2027
Signal detected. Origin unknown. This is probably fine.
Ghostlines
Book Three
Coming 2028
Transmission corrupted. Dead people may be involved.
Persephone
Book Four
Coming 2028
Access restricted. Someone ignored that warning.
The Long Night
Book Five
Coming 2029
System status: darkness. Estimated repair time unavailable.
Calliope
Book Six
Coming 2030
Docking clearance pending. Bureaucracy survived the apocalypse.
Endgame
Book Seven
Coming 2030
Final transmission queued. Assuming anything is still receiving.
Twenty Years in the Making
A Note About The Shards
The Shards didn't suddenly appear because I decided to write seven books at once. That would be ridiculous. Even for me.
The story actually began nearly twenty years ago as a short piece I first imagined while I was still in high school. Over the years, that one story kept growing, changing, collecting characters, worlds, technology, and an increasingly unreasonable amount of lore until it eventually became an entire seven-book series.
Much of that foundation was already written long before the first book reached publication. That's why books in The Shards may appear faster than readers might normally expect. They aren't being created from scratch overnight. They're finally being finished, rebuilt, edited, and released after spending roughly two decades lurking around in my imagination.
The capybaras insist they helped. There is currently no evidence supporting this claim.
Memoir
Far from Heaven: The Sarah King Story
Memoir
Coming at some point... I've only been working on it for 29 years.
At this point the manuscript has seniority.
Prose Web Serial
Sage: Ghosts of Millhaven
Season One · 22 Episodes · New episodes added regularly
A small town, a family secret, and a young woman named Sage who finds herself caught between what she was told and what actually happened.
